IT Issues for Students Transferring to SAS from Other Schools at Penn

  • Students & Alumni

Some things will not change.

When you transfer into SAS some important things will NOT change

  • Your PennKey username and password will not change
  • Your Penn Zoom account will not change
  • Canvas will not change.  Continue to use https://canvas.upenn.edu
  • If you already have a PennO365 ProPlus account, that will not change

You will need to change your email account.

Most students in Arts & Science have Google@SAS email accounts. When you transfer to SAS from another School at Penn, you will become eligible for a Google@SAS email account. The process depends on how you previously had your email setup.

PennO365 account from Nursing, Annenberg, Dental, Design, GSE, Law, SP2, or Vet:

  • You will not be able to create your Google@SAS account while your PennO365 is still active. Please use our student email help form to let us know you are transferring to SAS and need help with setting up your Google@SAS account:

  • Transfer existing email to your new account.  You will want to determine if there is any data in your PennO365 account that you would like to save or move to your Google@SAS account or another account you own. We will be able to assist you with creating your Google@SAS account and offer guidance for moving the data between accounts, if needed.  We will then work with your former school to close out the PennO365 mailbox and set mail routing for your SAS account.
  • You will be able to retain your PennO365 account as a Pro Plus account with access to Office apps. More info on PennO365 Pro Plus accounts can be found here.
  • Update Penn Directory.   Most University systems (including Canvas) use information from your Penn Directory listing.  So, you will need to update your email address in the Penn Directory as soon as your new Google@SAS account is active.    See details on how to update your Penn Directory listing
