John MacDermott is the Director for Instructional Technology for SAS Computing. His scope of responsibility includes computer labs and classroom technology, multi-media and videoconferencing services, electronic courseware, student technology services and a wide variety of special initiatives funded through internal and external grants. He supervises local computing support for SAS departments and centers in the Humanities, and in 1983. He worked for Wharton Computing from 1983 to 1990 as a multi-media producer before moving to FMP Communications as a video editor. John returned to Penn in 1995 as the New Media Specialist for Information Systems and Computing. He went on to establish Classroom Technology Services in 1997, and joined SAS Computing in his current capacity in July, 1999.
