You can control who has access to your Canvas course site through the Visibility setting.
The normal default setting for Penn Canvas sites is Course so that only enrolled students have access.
On 9/1/20 the Visibility setting on most Canvas sites will automatically be set to Institution to allow students to review course details when making registration decisions. On 9/15/20, the setting will revert to Course and Canvas sites will be available only to enrolled students.

- Any instructor who chooses to set course availability to Public needs to assure that the site does not expose any copyrighted materials. Normal standards for Fair Use will not apply. Penn faculty have received take-down notices from publishers because they posted copyrighted materials on publicly visitble Canvas sites.
