We’ve Moved!
All Internal SASC Documentation has been moved to the new SASC Internal Documentation SharePoint Site. Going forward, all internal docs will live in the SharePoint site.
The current Drupal internal pages are still accessible, but will soon be retired. As of 8/12/2025, only the docs in SharePoint will be maintained.
The New SharePoint Site: https://penno365.sharepoint.com/sites/SASComputingInternal
For questions or to request access to the site, please contact the SharePoint team in Slack #ask-docteam
Which types of requests should be submitted to DCS or to DCS Allocations, and how should they be submitted?
Most issues regarding Allocation computers should be submitted to DCS. For example:
- Computer or monitor repairs, pick-ups, or drop-offs offs and other pick-ups/drop-offs.
--For a stand-alone ticket, please use the service request form, Hardware Pickup for Repairs\Moves\Return to DCS.
--If creating a child ticket, please choose the catalog item, Hardware Pickup for Repairs\Moves\Return to DCS. - Loaner computers
--For a stand-alone ticket, please use the service request form, Loaner Computer Request.
--If creating a child ticket, please choose the catalog item, Loaner Computer Request - Surplus computers: Please use the service request form, Surplus Equipment Request Form.
- Replacement of Malfunctioning mice, keyboards, laptop batteries, and power adapters.
- Other replacement parts.
Some of the issues that should be submitted to DCS Allocations are:
- Eligibility of a person's position for a current Allocation program computer:
--For a stand-alone ticket, please use the service request form, Allocation Program - Is this position eligible for a current computer?
--If creating a child ticket, please choose the catalog item, Allocation Program - Is this position eligible for a current computer? - Eligibility of a person/position for the replacement of a current Allocation computer:
--For a stand-alone ticket, please use the service request form, Allocation Program - Can this current Allocation computer be replaced?
--If creating a child ticket, please choose the catalog item, Allocation Program - Can this current Allocation computer be replaced? - Request to transfer a current Allocation computer from the assigned user to another user.
- Replacement for a stolen current Allocation computer.
- When a standing faculty member is leaving, which steps are required with regard to the Allocation computer(s) they are using?
When creating a ticket manually, (i.e. not using a service request form or service catalog item), you have to choose a group to assign. When submitting a request to Allocations, please make sure to assign the DCS Allocations group.

Quick questions about pre-existing FreshService tickets assigned to DCS may be submitted to the #ask-dcs Slack channel as needed. In your post, please provide the full web link to the ticket or at least provide the ticket number. If your question or issue is urgent, please tag your message with @dcs, and the team will be notified.
As with the #ask-dcs channel for DCS, quick questions about pre-existing FreshService tickets assigned to DCS Allocations may be submitted to DCS Allocations via the #ask-allocations channel. As most Allocation topics are not urgent, the channel will only be lightly monitored. Nevertheless, if you do have an urgent question, please tag your message with @dcs-allocations, and Sarah will be notified directly. Otherwise, please expect a 1-2 business day turnaround. Please refrain from sending Sarah direct messages.
