Which types of requests should be submitted to DCS or to DCS Allocations and how to submit these requests
Most issues regarding Allocation computers should be submitted to DCS. For example:
- Computer or monitor repairs, pick-ups, or drop offs and other pick-ups/drop offs

--or if creating a Freshservice child ticket, choose the catalog item Hardware Pickup for Repairs\Moves\Return to DCS. - Loaner computers (Create a child ticket to the main Freshservice ticket using the catalog itemĀ Loaner Computer Request
- Surplus computers (Click here for the link to Freshservice service request form Surplus Equipment Request Form.)
- Replacement of Malfunctioning mice, keyboards, and laptop batteries and power adapters
- Other replacement parts
Some of the issues that should be submitted to DCS Allocations are:
- Allocation eligibility of a person's position
- Replacement due date for an Allocation computer
- Request to transfer an Allocation computer from the assigned user to another user
- Replacement for a stolen Allocation computer
- When a standing faculty member is leaving, steps required with regard to the Allocation computer(s) they are using
To submit tickets to Allocations, please assign the DCS Allocations group.

Quick questions about pre-existing FreshService tickets assigned to DCS may be submitted to the #ask-dcs Slack channel as needed. In your post, please provide the full web link to the ticket or at least provide the ticket number. If your question or issue is urgent, please tag your message with @dcs and the team will be notified.
As with the #ask-dcs channel for DCS, quick questions about pre-existing FreshService tickets assigned to DCS AllocationsĀ may be submitted to DCS Allocations via the #ask-allocations channel. As most Allocation topics are not urgent, the channel will only be lightly monitored.
